After that, you will be directed to the department where the operation will take place.

The admission department is open daily from 7:00 to 18:00. Outside of these hours, go to the emergency room (Hadar Miyun).

What do you need to take with you to the hospital?

  • Identity card.
  • The medicines you are taking in their original packaging and a prescription card. This is necessary so that medical staff can get a complete and accurate view of all the drugs you are prescribed.
  • Personal items such as slippers, toothbrush, toiletries.
  • It is not recommended to bring valuables with you. The hospital is not responsible for lost valuables or money.
  • Written questions about your surgery that you want to ask your doctor and / or nurse when you are admitted to the unit.

ATTENTION!

  • Blood thinning medications such as Cartia, Aspirin, Plavix, Micropirin should be discontinued 10 days before the operation, only if agreed with your doctor.
  • Discuss stopping your blood thinning medications such as Coumadin or Sintrum with your doctor immediately after receiving a referral for surgery. Do not stop taking your medications without your doctor’s approval. Proper preparation is usually required 10 days prior to surgery.
  • If you have a heart valve disorder, tell your doctor about your upcoming surgery so they can consider prescribing appropriate antibiotics before surgery.
  • Medical staff must be informed of any drug sensitivity!
  • If your health condition changes before surgery, such as fever, cough, running nose, cold, etc. it is necessary to inform the attending physician about this as soon as possible.

How to prepare for surgery at home

Hygiene procedures

On the surface of the skin, there are many bacteria that form part of the natural microbial population of the human body. On the day before the operation, it is necessary to reduce their number as much as possible in order to reduce the infection risk of the surgical wound. To do this, you need to properly carry out hygiene procedures.

Instructions

  • Take a shower and wash your hair the night before your surgery and, if possible, do the same the next morning.
  • Bathe under running water (shower) with soap.
  • Areas of the body that deserve special attention due to the large accumulation of bacteria: armpits, under the breast, belly-button, genitals, groin and buttocks.
  • Steps:
  1. Wash your hair.
  2. Wash your upper body, especially in the armpits and under the breasts, with a wet sponge dipped in soap.
  3. Wash your lower body. The belly-button area is especially important, also rub the genital area and buttocks thoroughly so that the soap penetrates between the folds.
  4. Rinse off the soap.
  5. Repeat steps 1-4.
  6. Dry your body with a clean towel and put on clean clothes.
  7. Do not use body cream after bathing.

ATTENTION!

Do not remove hair in the surgery area at home!

*Hair removal in the surgery area is performed only by the medical staff of the department and / or operating room. Don’t do it yourself!

Preoperative Fasting Instructions

  • Stop eating heavy food such as fried food, meat, fish, eggs, and cheese 8 hours before anesthesia.
  • Stop eating 6 hours before anesthesia.
  • It is allowed to drink only clear liquids (water, tea, clear apple juice, not effervescent).
  • Full fasting should be started 3 hours before anesthesia. you cannot take liquid and food.
  • Inaccurate compliance with these requirements will result in the postponement or cancellation of the operation.

Taking medication

As prescribed by your doctor.

Admission to the department

Upon admission, the nurse will introduce you to the department and the specifics of its work.

On the morning of your surgery, you will be asked to:

  • Remove jewelry, clothing (other than a hospital gown), contact lenses, makeup, nail polish, and wipe off lipstick.
  • Remove piercings from all areas of the body. If you do not remove the piercing prior to surgery, it will be done in the operating room.
  • Remove hearing aid / glasses and dentures. The storage of dentures and hearing aids is the responsibility of the patient and / or family. You can put your dentures in a special safe in the department you were admitted to.
  • You should never store your dentures and hearing aids under a pillow, in a shirt pocket or anywhere else to avoid losing them.
  • Wear a hospital gown.
  • The nurse will check your wrist ID bracelet.

Before making a phone call from the operating room, you will be assisted on a gurney. Your family / companions can walk with you to the operating room reception area where you will meet with the surgical nurse to identify and review the medical record before entering the operating room.

The accompanying person will receive a code to track the stages of the operation. He can also receive an SMS about the end of the operation and your transfer to the recovery room. The accompanying person will then be able to wait in the Family Reception, which is located next to the operating room and recovery room. After being transferred to the recovery room, the surgeon will come out to talk with the people accompanying you.

We are at your service for any questions,

Preoperative clinic staff
